Students from IES Joan Alcover return to the high school ahead of time to prepare the reuse books

PalmaWhile there are still a few days left to return to the classrooms, a group of students from IES Joan Alcover has already begun preparing for the new school year. They have done so voluntarily, dedicating one of the last afternoons of their vacation to a task that will not only affect them: preparing and covering the books for the center's reuse program. The students met at the institute itself to review and prepare the copies that, once the school year begins, will pass into their hands and those of their classmates. They have been covering the books and preparing them so they can be used during the course and, subsequently, once again become part of the reuse program.

The work is part of the usual preparation of the program's material, which allows books to have more than one life and be passed from one student to another. In this way, the material that these students are now preparing will be used during the school year by different students at the center.

The scene also leaves an unusual image of these final days of vacation: instead of being at home or spending the afternoon in another way, these students have decided to return to the institute early to lend a hand. A small task that contributes to the functioning of the program and that, at the same time, places the students at the center of an initiative based on sharing and reusing educational materials. With the books now prepared, it only remains for the first day of class to arrive so that these copies can return to the classrooms and begin a new stage in the hands of their next readers.
