Teacher arrested in Mallorca high school for touching a student

PalmA substitute teacher at the Llorenç Garcias i Font institute in Artà, Mallorca, has been arrested by the Civil Guard for alleged touching of a minor student who was in her fourth year of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and has been suspended by the Ministry of Education until the end of the school year.

The events occurred on March 13 in the teacher's office, where, according to the complaint, he sexually touched the adolescent after summoning her to resolve academic doubts, as reported this Wednesday by the newspaper Última Hora.

Following the complaint, the regional education department has agreed to provisionally suspend the teacher's duties and remuneration for three and a half months, as confirmed by the Ministry. This measure aims to prevent any contact between the accused teacher and the student, as well as to ensure the victim's safety in the school environment while the armed forces continue their investigation.

This arrest comes at a time of maximum tension in the education system due to the return to classes of Miquel Roldán. Specifically, the Mallorcan teacher convicted by court for harassing a minor.
