The IES Albuhaira of Muro participates in various Erasmus+ mobilities with nearly 70 students and teachers
The center coordinates training and practical internships in various European countries in the fields of Secondary, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and higher education within the European Union's Erasmus+ program
PalmaIES Albuhaira has reinforced its commitment to educational internationalization this year with outstanding participation in the Erasmus+ program. Nearly seventy students and teachers have participated in training and practical mobility opportunities across Europe, consolidating the center as a benchmark for international projection within the Balearic educational sphere.
During the current academic year, the center's Erasmus+ committee has coordinated a wide range of experiences in countries such as Austria, Italy, France, Germany, Slovenia, and the Netherlands, among others. These actions have allowed Secondary, Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training students, as well as teaching staff, to gain learning and personal growth experiences in leading European environments.
In the area of School Education, exchanges have enabled dozens of students to participate in international internships. A group of 14 students from 3rd year of ESO traveled to Vienna, while 12 students from 4th year of ESO undertook an internship in Bad Dürkheim, Germany. In France, 8 students from 1st year of Baccalaureate participated in a mobility program in Lunéville, and two more students completed long-term individual internships in Legnano, Italy, which strengthened their language learning and personal maturity. Teachers have also played an active role in the center's international dimension, with two professional observation periods (job shadowing) in Slovenia and several continuing education courses, focused on pedagogical innovation and multilingualism.
Vocational Training: real experience in the European market
Vocational Training has been one of the most dynamic pillars of the Erasmus+ program. Within the framework of KA-121 VET, four graduates from the Auxiliary Nursing Care course completed three-month internships at Casa di Riposo San Petronio in Bologna, Italy. Additionally, four students completed two-month internships in professional settings in Trentino. They did this by working in centers such as Trentino Wild and Agritur Bontempelli, as part of their mandatory internships. Regarding teaching staff, three teachers undertook job shadowing at the Cruyff College in Amsterdam, while seven more participated in training on international project management and outdoor education.
In the field of higher education, Higher Level Vocational Training courses have also strengthened the European dimension. Three students have undertaken two-month internships in leading sports centers in the Netherlands and Portugal, while one student from the Dietetics course has completed a three-month internship at Ideal Korpus in Paredes, Portugal.
A commitment to the European future
Sources from the center highlight that these experiences not only improve academic and professional skills, but also contribute to forming more autonomous, open, and prepared young people for a global environment. IES Albuhaira thus reaffirms its commitment to internationalization and the continuity of mobility opportunities within the framework of Erasmus+, consolidating itself as an active center in the construction of a more connected and collaborative European citizenship.
