PalmCouncilor Antoni Vera and the Mayor of Inca, Virgili Moreno, have signed a new institutional collaboration agreement that will allow the Inca City Council to use part of the facilities of the Balearic Islands Museum of Education for cultural activities compatible with museum use. The agreement, which will be valid for four years and renewable, establishes that the City Council may use the multipurpose room, the temporary exhibition hall, and the courtyard, provided there is availability, for cultural activities that respect the educational purpose of the facility. The Education Museum is located in Pavilion 7 of the General Luque Barracks, on loan from the Inca City Council. It includes a welcome area with a historical context and a permanent exhibition featuring old school furniture and teaching materials.

This agreement marks the latest milestone in a journey that began in 2001, when the Balearic Islands Education Archive and Museum was created by decree.

Collaboration between institutions

According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry is committed to providing these spaces in optimal conditions and facilitating access with due notice. No financial obligations are imposed on either party, and monitoring will be carried out by a joint committee composed of representatives from both institutions.

The space features a specialized library with more than 8,000 volumes, a hall for traveling exhibitions (with current content on fables, art, and education), and a multipurpose room for conferences, workshops, and debates. All of this has been designed to offer a transformative educational experience, open to schools, teachers, researchers, and the general public.
