The STEI is considering taking the process of awarding temporary teachers to court.
He assures that the Director General of Teaching Staff, Joana Maria Cabrer, signed the provisional resolution before the deadline for submitting complaints.
PalmThe STEI (Spanish National Education and University Administration) has accused the Ministry of Education and Universities of "failing to respect" the rights of temporary workers and has requested "urgent" explanations from the Director General of Teaching Personnel and State-subsidized Schools, Joana Maria Cabrer. The union made this demand this Friday in a statement in which it publicly denounced the fact that the Director General signed the provisional resolution before the deadline for submitting complaints. The union did not rule out referring this matter to the legal services to guarantee the right to defense and the corresponding claim of the candidates affected by what they consider to be "negligence" on the part of the Administration.
This act, the STEI criticized, represents an "absolute disregard" for the right to defense of applicants for a teaching position. In its opinion, it represents a "lack of respect" on the part of the Ministry for those who risk a job for the entire academic year and the "defenselessness" of the teaching group that suffers the most from precarious conditions.
"It is also unacceptable that the Regional Ministry does not even respect the deadlines it has set in its instructions, which it strictly demands from its constituents," the union stated. In this regard, it announced that it will request the Director General's urgent appearance before the Education Sectoral Committee to provide "all the appropriate explanations" and to "clarify" whether anyone has been affected.
