University entrance exams in 2026 will take place on June 9, 10, and 11. Students take the selectivity exam after having selected in an ordered manner which degrees they would like to pursue. This list of preferences is created during the pre-enrollment process, and places are assigned according to the order of grades. That is to say: if there is a higher volume of demand than supply for a specific degree, only those with the highest grades will be able to access those studies. If they do not reach the desired grade, students can enroll in another of the options on the preference list.

This list is created by the students themselves during university pre-enrollment, which is announced between June 2 and 26 via the University Access Portal. Once inside, students can order the degrees offered at all Catalan universities based on where they wish to enroll. Below, we explain how you should enroll in the degree for the June 2026 call, whether you have obtained the grade for your first preference or not, and at what point.

First assignment enrollment

On Friday, July 10, the first assignment lists will be published, where students can check if they have a high enough grade to enroll in their first choice, or in one of the other preferences (from second to eighth). For example, if you don't get into your first choice because you didn't reach the cutoff grade, it's possible you can enroll in the second. Universities usually contact students and inform them of the established enrollment period so they don't lose their spot in the degree. In any case, the dates for enrolling in the first preferences are from July 14 to July 17 (both inclusive).

Pre-registration: second assignment and definitive assignment

Enrollment: second allocation and final allocation

On July 23rd, the second assignment is published. Here, students who in the first assignment did not gain access to their desired degree or any of their preferences, have more opportunities. On the same day and until August 27th, the process "Continue in the seat assignment process" will be opened, for those who have not yet secured a place in the degree they wanted. If you decide to enroll in this second assignment, the period is from July 24th to July 28th (both inclusive). Remember that if you do not continue in the seat assignment process and also do not enroll in these three days in the degree and university of your preference, you will lose your place.

Dates of seat reassignments

If between July 24 and 28 you started the process "Continue in the place assignment process", in the following assignments you will be able to check if you have been admitted to the degrees you had marked as preferred. On each of the indicated dates you can continue this process, or enroll. It should be noted that many degrees start the academic year in September. Therefore, students who enroll on these dates start later than the rest.

  • September 4: publication of the 3rd place assignment
  • September 7 and 8: 3rd assignment enrollment
  • September 15: publication of 4th assignment of places
  • September 16: enrollment 4th assignment
  • September 23: publication of 5th assignment of places
  • September 25: 5th assignment enrollment
  • October 7: publication of the 6th assignment of places
  • October 8: enrollment 6th assignment
  • October 14: publication of 7th assignment of places
  • October 15: 7th assignment enrollment

Remember that procedures can be carried out through the University Access portal.
