IB-Salut sets 100% minimum services in emergency and critical activities during the healthcare strike
Minimum services will be in place from December 9 to 12 to ensure essential hospital and primary care and continuity of treatment.
PalmThe Balearic Islands Health Service, IB-Salut, has established minimum services for the strike by medical and healthcare staff, which will begin at 00:00 on Tuesday, December 9th and last until 23:59 on Friday, December 12th. The minimum services will be in place to guarantee the continuity of treatments and scheduled activity. This includes essential services such as Medical and Radiation Oncology and Hematology, Oncological Surgery, Emergency Services, Dialysis, Day Hospital, and Hospital Pharmacy. In centers with multiple shifts, the strike will begin with the first shift on the 9th and end when the last shift finishes on Friday, even if this extends beyond 23:59.
Regarding Primary Care, during the morning shift (8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), there will be at least one doctor and one pediatrician per health center, and two of each in centers with more than 20,500 health cards. During the afternoon shift (3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.), there will be one doctor and one pediatrician, if available.
In Urgent and Emergency Care Services (SUAP and 061), coverage will be 100%, while resident physicians (MIR) are not subject to minimum service requirements due to their specific employment status.
This measure aims to ensure that the medical staff strike does not affect urgent care or the care of hospitalized patients, and to guarantee the safety and health of citizens during the four days of the strike.
