The PP, PSIB and Vox hasten the debate of the omnibus law in Parliament
MÉS per Mallorca and MÉS per Menorca denounce a processing "full of irregularities" of the text
PalmaThe Parliament's plenary session will debate and foreseeably approve next Tuesday the law for the acceleration of strategic projects, turned into an omnibus law because the PP, Vox, and the PSIB have introduced nearly 75 amendments affecting about fifty regulations. This majority is what has forced the debate to take place without delay, even though the legal advisors have just sent the commission's opinion, of 218 pages, to the parliamentary groups. MÉS per Mallorca and Més per Menorca have denounced that the norm is being introduced on the agenda "with a shoehorn".
"The processing of this law has been riddled with irregularities, and this is already the last one," lamented the deputy from Més per Menorca, Josep Castells, after leaving the Spokespersons' Board that has given the green light to the incorporation of the law into the next plenary session. In his opinion, little margin is given to groups to study the amendments, many of which have little to do with the object of the law. "We have used all the tools that the regulations give us so that these modifications enter as late as possible," said Castells: "But the PSIB has not stood firm with the opposition groups, but has remained on the sidelines, while the president of the commission, Patricia Gómez (PSIB), rejected the objections".
The leader of MÉS per Mallorca, Lluís Apesteguia, expressed himself in similar terms. "The groups that today have not opposed the inclusion of this text in the agenda do not care at all that this Parliament does its job correctly," he said. The ecosovereignist recalled that some of the legal modifications it foresees involve "the elimination of the right to receive a minimum for vital maintenance for hundreds and thousands of people", due to the toughening of the requirements to access aid, which will leave newcomers out. Also, "the elimination of the Catalan requirement for access to public service, teachers and in general", in addition to the "loss of territorial protection for hundreds of hectares".
Apesteguia has charged against the PSIB for having agreed to some amendments –for example, on the taxi sector– with the PP. "We cannot throw our hands up at pacts with Vox and at the same time negotiate crumbs that could be debated and approved in other different procedures," he criticized.
