Reactions to the Ferraz search: PSIB "respects" justice while PP and Vox demand elections
The reactions of the Balearic parties to the entry of the Civil Guard into the PSOE headquarters
PalmaThe outbreak of the case affecting José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and the entry of the Guardia Civil into the PSOE headquarters have shaken the PSIB and provoked the reaction of the right in the Balearic Islands. The deputy spokesperson for the socialists in Parliament, Marc Pons, has expressed "respect for the judicial action" and argued that the PSOE, in his opinion, has acted with the "utmost forcefulness". The Spanish President, Pedro Sánchez, has expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Justice system, but has said he rules out advancing the elections, as demanded by the PP and Vox.
Pons has highlighted, on the other hand, the opening of oral proceedings against the president of the Consell d'Eivissa, Vicent Marí, for prevarication, and the declaration as an investigated party of the chief of staff of president Marga Prohens for alleged irregularities in the hiring of a driver. In the same vein, he has demanded "the same standard of requirement for everyone, including for the PP" and has underlined that in the Balearic Islands, "if anyone has people indicted" it is the PP.
For their part, the spokespersons for the PP and Vox in the Parliament, Sebastià Sagreras and Manuela Cañadas, respectively, have demanded the immediate call for general elections. "What else needs to happen to the PSOE for elections to be called?", criticized the far-right deputy. She has also lashed out at the voters of the socialist party. "They can fool you once or twice, but you have to be very foolish to vote for someone who robs you," she said. For his part, the popular politician insisted that an early election is necessary because, in his opinion, Sánchez "can no longer hold on any longer". "The citizens do not deserve this shame," he said.
