Elderly people fill Porreras in one of the most multitudinous gatherings of the year
More than 4,000 people participate in a day full of activities, music and coexistence in the streets of the municipality
PorrerasPorreras experienced a special weekend with the celebration of the Senior Citizens' Fair, an event that filled the town's streets with visitors from different parts of Mallorca. More than 4,000 people participated in this gathering, which has already established itself as one of the most prominent on the social calendar of the island's municipalities.
From early in the morning, the town center was full of activity with groups arriving from various localities to share a day marked by music, movement, and reunion. Many participants take advantage of this annual event not only to enjoy the activities but also to reconnect with friends and acquaintances from other towns.
The program included line dancing exhibitions, sevillanas, ball de bot, Zumba, and ballroom dancing, in addition to coral concerts, shows, and traditional workshops. There were also spaces dedicated to popular games, such as the truc tournament, and activities related to health and well-being, with talks and practical advice on nutrition, physical activity, and quality of life.
One of the most repeated images of the day was that of the streets full of senior citizens actively participating, demonstrating that these gatherings are much more than a simple fair: they are a space for coexistence and social recognition.
The day also served to highlight the importance of maintaining an active and participatory life, especially in municipalities where the social fabric continues to be fundamental. The good atmosphere and the great public response have confirmed that Porreras has become, once again, the great meeting point for Mallorcan senior citizens.
