The PSIB guarantees support for the Government's anti-crisis decree
Measures to confront the rise in prices due to the war in Iran will be approved in an extraordinary Council of Government
PalmaThe Government's anti-crisis decree will be validated, presumably, in Parliament. The spokesperson for the socialist parliamentary group, Iago Negueruela, has assured that they will support the decree-law of measures to alleviate the impact of the war in Iran on the economy of the Islands, although he has requested that it incorporate direct social aid.
The Government has sent a draft of the decree to the parliamentary groups before approving it this Wednesday in the Governing Council. In this regard, Negueruela has thanked the first vice-president and Minister of Economy, Antoni Costa, for having been able to "discuss technical aspects" of the text during these days. The decree includes aid for the agricultural, fishing, transport, and distribution sectors. It also includes deductions for the increase in variable mortgages, as well as an update of civil servants' salaries. "The PSIB sees part of its expectations met, the economic one, regarding deductions and support for the self-employed and transporters, but will meet with the sectors and will demand improvements in the social part," Negueruela pointed out. The parliamentary group of Vox, which on Monday left "in limbo its support for the decree-law until seeing the draft, has presented 13 proposals to "strengthen" the decree-law, which are in line with making tax cuts, giving aid to the primary sector, the self-employed and SMEs, as well as to working families, industrial strengthening and the efficiency of public spending.
