This Monday, the 36 children from the Vacations in Peace 2025 program completed their stay on the islands.

The minors have begun their return to the Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf (Algeria).

They will travel on a scheduled flight from their respective islands to Barcelona, from where they, along with children from other communities, will travel on a direct charter flight to Tindou.

The goal of this program is to remove children from the harsh conditions of the desert, provide them with medical checkups, promote cultural exchange, and raise awareness about the plight of the Sahrawi people.

This is how their stay in the Balearic Islands came to an end, where they spent almost seven weeks enjoying their vacation thanks to their host families and the participating institutions: the Government, the Council of Mallorca, and the Palma City Council.

The program is promoted by the Association of Friends of the Sahrawi People of the Balearic Islands.

The central focus of the program is the hosting of Sahrawi children, ages 8 to 12, by families from the Balearic Islands.
