A motorcyclist seriously injured in a head-on accident between two motorcycles and a car between Algaida and Santa Eugènia

AlgaidaA serious traffic accident occurred on Saturday afternoon on the road connecting Algaida with Santa Eugènia (Ma-3130). A car and two large-displacement motorcycles were involved in the incident, with at least one of the motorcyclists seriously injured.

The accident took place around 6:30 p.m., specifically at the intersection with the old road to Pina, at the bend that gives access to this population center.

For reasons that are still unknown and are being investigated, the two motorcycles, which were heading towards Santa Eugènia, and the car, which was heading towards Algaida, collided head-on violently. As a result of the strong impact, both motorcycles were completely destroyed.

Emergencies

The seriousness of the accident and the position in which the vehicles were left forced the authorities to cut off the road to traffic in both directions to allow for the work of the rescue and road cleaning teams.

The Local Police of Algaida was the first body to arrive at the scene. The officers provided the first emergency assistance to the victims and were responsible for regulating traffic and diverting vehicles, securing the area until the arrival of the rest of the units.

Given the magnitude of the accident, a significant emergency device was deployed which included four ambulances from the health service to attend to the injured, personnel from Algaida Civil Protection and patrols from the Guardia Civil de Trànsit.

The Guardia Civil de Trànsit took charge of the investigation to clarify the exact circumstances that caused the collision.
