The Trenc, Prohens' overconfidence?

PalmWhen she arrived at the Consulate, Marga Prohens was very clear that she would not be a ‘José Ramón Bauzá’. In political and journalistic terms, this means not taking actions contrary to the general interest, no matter how much certain interests may pressure. At that time, Bauzá heeded a small sector of the PP, which had historically declared itself anti-Catalan and against everything that was not about Hispanizing the world.

A decade later, with the arrival of Vox, that ultra and minority sector that the PP had is clearly voting for the extreme right, and therefore, Prohens has a freer party internally. However, the need for Vox in Parliament has forced her to balance. She has always tried to approve small gestures that would calm the anti-language obsession of the ultra party, without the educational community and other sectors rebelling as happened with the president of Marratxí. And more or less it can be said that she has managed to get through the first three years without many green t-shirts in sight. Perhaps this has made her confident.

To this fact, we must add a certain demobilization of social and ecological sectors. In part, because the deep disappointment with a left that observed reality and filled social networks with cool videos and messages is still ongoing, while saturation soared and the territory degraded before their eyes. But behold, around Campos some do not end up accepting that the protection of the territory comes at the cost of losing a few chalets (which, incidentally, are being built in abundance on rustic land) and parking lots. They have pushed so hard that they have managed to open the possibility of touching the Natural Park without going through Parliament. And people have mobilized. And I would say that the left has woken up.
