Carme Gomila, from Manacor, is the new president of the Republican Left in the Balearic Islands.
The party's executive committee in Mallorca has also been renewed, and Pollencín native Miquel Àngel Sureda will be the island's president.

This weekend, Esquerra Republicana held its regional congresses at its headquarters in Manacor to renew its political leadership. Mateu Xurí, president of the party in the Balearic Islands for the past few years, had already announced that he would not run again for reappointment, although he remains linked to the project as part of the new executive.
The candidacy, led by Carme Gomila, has received clear support from its members, according to sources within the party. The Manacor City Councilor expressed her gratitude for the work done and expressed her willingness to "continue the party's political action," working to strengthen the pro-independence projects of MÉS por Mallorca, Més por Menorca, and ARA Eivissa, of which Esquerra Republicana is an integral part.
The party's executive committee in Mallorca has also been renewed. Pollensa City Councilor Miquel Àngel Sureda will now be the island's president. Sureda has expressed his willingness to work closely with Carme Gomila to influence MÁS por Mallorca with the hope of achieving strong electoral results in 2027.
