For her part, the new regional minister for Families, Social Welfare, and Dependency Care, Sandra Fernández, who this Saturday, after taking the oath of office at an institutional event at the Consulate of the Mar, wanted to offer a "very special" thanks to Cirer, asserting that she comes to the position with "great enthusiasm" to do so, as she said, "with the support of the professionals, the civil servants of this institution, and also, of course, the third-sector social entities."
Hours later, it was the turn of the new Minister of Labor, Civil Service, and Social Dialogue, Catalina Cabrer, who mentioned that her main objectives for the remainder of the legislative term are the economic transition of the Balearic Islands, the quality of employment, and the implementation of the Balearic Law on Conciliation. This was stated by the new head of these areas during the handover of portfolios from the ministers who until now had responsibilities in Employment (Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro) and Civil Service (Antònia Maria Estarellas).
During the event, Cabrer stated that he faces this stage with "great enthusiasm, desire, and work," as he had already worked in labor matters from the General Secretariat of Employment during the first two years of this term.
Meanwhile, the former Minister of Business, Employment, and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, will become Minister of Business, Self-Employed Workers, and Energy. When asked about the importance that the self-employed will acquire with this change, he emphasized that the Balearic Islands are a "land of self-employed workers" and that several calls for aid have been developed to try to "value" the work of the self-employed.
