The Manacor City Council will vote this Tuesday on the appointment of Pedro Puche Andreu as the new Urban Planning Manager, in accordance with the discretionary appointment system stipulated in the Urban Planning Management Regulations. This proposal follows the creation and regulation of this new municipal body, approved by the full council. The Management was established with the aim of improving the efficiency of urban planning management, reducing processing times, and strengthening the application of the general plan and municipal urban planning criteria. The appointment proposal is being put to a vote in the plenary session because the position of manager, according to the regulations approved in 2024, requires a plenary agreement upon the mayor's proposal. The process to fill the manager position began on October 2nd by mayoral decree. Seven candidates applied, five of whom reached the personal interview stage, conducted by the mayor, Miquel Oliver, and the Urban Planning Delegate, Núria Hinojosa. Technical and legal perspective

Pedro Puche Andreu is an architect and lawyer, a combination that integrates the essential technical and legal perspectives needed to lead a highly complex department, explains the Manacor City Council. He served as an interim civil servant in the Urban Planning Department for seven years, during which time he performed highly technical tasks and acquired in-depth knowledge of the procedures, internal workings, and real needs of the unit. He also has experience in the private sector as an architect, an aspect that strengthens his ability to improve relationships and communication with developers, professionals, and other stakeholders in the sector.
