PalmaPalma will be the first setting for a debate, on October 14th, on the protection and care of feminist activists and other social movements, organized by the Entrepobles Association, together with Casa La Serena (Consorcio Oaxaca, Mexico) and the Mesoamerican Initiative of Women Human Rights Defenders (IM-Defensoras). The tour, titled "Defending life through care," will travel through Mallorca, Catalonia, and the Valencian Country with the aim of connecting the experiences developed in Mesoamerica with the initiatives promoted by the movements in our territories: climate justice, defense of the territory, feminisms, and community care networks.

The core of the tour is Feminist Integral Protection (FIP), a strategy based on the idea that defending human rights also implies protecting, caring for, and supporting activists, because the struggle cannot be sustained indefinitely without spaces for rest, recovery, and healing.

The tour will feature the participation of two members of Casa La Serena. Nallely Guadalupe Tello Méndez is the head of Casa La Serena and a member of the collegiate leadership of the Consorcio para el Diálogo Parlamentario y la Equidad Oaxaca. Magali Jiménez Sánchez is a psychologist and feminist psychotherapist specialized in accompanying women from a community-based and de-pathologizing perspective.

Mexico is the country with the highest number of missing persons on the continent. According to the National Registry of Missing Persons, in July 2025, there were more than 131,000 officially reported missing and unaccounted-for persons.

The murder of Marisela Escobedo Ortiz in Chihuahua, in December 2010, while she was demanding justice for the femicide of her daughter Rubí Fraire, marked a painful milestone in the fight against impunity.

According to the report "MAY SEEKING TRUTH AND JUSTICE NOT COST US OUR LIVES: 10+ Years of attacks against defenders of the right to truth, justice, and reparation in Mesoamerica (2012-June 2026)" by IM-Defensoras, between 2020 and June 2026, 1,883 attacks were recorded against this group, including the femicide of 23 'buscadoras' –women who search for their missing relatives–, representing 38% of the total number of defenders murdered in the country during this period.
