PalmThe Minister of Youth and Children, Sira Rego, has criticized the Balearic Government for its intention to request precautionary measures to stop the distribution of migrant minors, which is expected to begin next week, and considered that their refusal to accept them is not due to a "lack of resources" but to "racism."

This was expressed this Thursday in a message published on his Bluesky social media account, reported by Europa Press, in which he cited a news report about the appeal that the Balearic government intends to file before the Supreme Court to prevent 40 migrant minors from the Canary Islands and Ceuta from reaching the archipelago.

"The Prohens government didn't even attend the last Sectoral Conference on Children, which was supposed to approve an extraordinary allocation of €22 million in funding for the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla. It's not a lack of resources, it's racism," Rego stated.
