The organizers of the Egyptian party with an artificial lake in Ibiza paid 199 euros in taxes to the City Council

PalmaPacma has filed an administrative complaint and a request for public and environmental information access to clarify the installation of an artificial lake during a private party held at La Pedrera, in Sant Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza.

According to a statement from Pacma, the organization paid 199 euros as an activity fee to use this public space. The City Council justified the exceptional authorization by the solidarity nature of the celebration, as the promoters had committed to donating part of the profits.

However, during the assembly, an artificial ornamental lake was built that was not expressly included in the technical report presented to the City Council. The documentation also did not specify its dimensions or the volume of water intended to be used, even though the island is subject to drought restrictions, the party recalled.

The animal rights group has considered that the main responsibility lies with the promoting entity, which would have incorporated a relevant installation into the event without expressly including it in the technical report submitted for authorization.

However, the ignorance alleged by the City Council cannot translate into inaction in the eyes of the political party, which demands that the City Council exercise inspection powers, check if the celebration complied with the authorized conditions, and determine if there were essential omissions, breaches, or actions that required additional communication or authorization.

Pacma has requested that the real volume of water used, its origin, the companies that participated in its supply and transport, and its destination after dismantling be investigated. It has also demanded that it be verified whether the construction of the lake violated the authorization conditions or any applicable sectoral regulations.
