PalmaThe PP and Vox accused the CCOO, UGT, and the Tenants' Union this Wednesday of calling a general strike that "goes against" the opposition parties. After the Board of Spokespersons, the PP and Vox spokespersons, Sebastià Sagreras and Manuela Cañadas, questioned that the general strike "goes against the opposition parties," in reference to the correlation of forces currently in effect in Congress, since it was the opposition that struck down the housing decrees promoted by Pedro Sánchez's government.

"It is a general strike against the opposition, something never seen before, not against the [Spanish] government, for not approving measures that would make the situation much worse," stated Cañadas in statements collected by Europa Press: "It is a mockery and considers citizens fools." In the same vein, Sagreras said that the strike "is being carried out for political reasons." "We respect any type of demonstration, and it would be unusual for them to be against the parties that have not had the capacity to govern during these last few years in the State," he said.

For its part, MÉS per Mallorca and the PSIB have supported the call, which is expected to take place on November 11. The eco-sovereigntist deputy Ferran Rosa has encouraged citizens to participate in a "historic mobilization" to "turn around the problem of access to housing." In addition, he conveyed his party's "total support" for the strike which, in his opinion, must place the need to curb real estate speculation at the center. "We regret that a strike has to be called for the PSOE to do something," he added.

In turn, Iago Negueruela (PSIB) showed his "clear support" for the strike, and called for focusing on the fact that workers "need better wages." "It is a way, in addition to saying that not everything goes, and that the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) must sit down to improve the agreements," stressed the socialist, who accused the PP of "wanting to suppress work leaves" and "denying" housing to citizens.
