Vox has filed a lawsuit against the Spanish government delegate in the Balearic Islands, Alfonso Rodríguez, for the incidents recorded on Friday in Mahón during the anti-fascist protest against the rally of the leader of the party, Santiago Abascal. Tension reached the housing encampment at Plaça d'Espanya in Palma this Saturday, after a far-right group of Vox sympathizers arrived there following their attendance at the Santiago Abascal rally in front of the Cathedral. The mayor of Campos, Xisca Porquer (PP), will not run as a candidate for mayor in the next municipal elections, scheduled for May 23, 2027. The Governing Council approved this Friday a spending ceiling of 7,160.88 million euros, 598 million euros more (+9.1%) than the current regional budgets and 1,213 million more in relation to the previous legislature. The courts of the Balearic Islands received a total of 2,098 complaints for gender-based violence during the second quarter of 2026, 12.1% more than in the same period of the previous year, when 1,878 were registered. The figures are equivalent to an average of 23 daily complaints and place the Islands as the territory with the highest rate of victims reporting sexist violence in the entire State.
