The presiding judge of the Jury Court rejects the defense's request for the accused to receive treatment while at liberty. The prosecution had requested 54 years of internment. The judge argues that, outside a protected environment, the risk of violent outbursts is extreme. Although he will be subject to annual reviews. The resolution also highlights the "extremely high risk of relapse" if he is not interned. According to the sentence, the accused is not aware of his illness, and any minor trigger while at liberty could generate "violent behavior of extreme gravity".

Likewise, the sentence rules out the aggravating circumstance of kinship, given that it has been proven that the man suffered from Capgras syndrome. For this reason, he acted under the delusion that he was not attacking his mother and his brother, but rather impostors or evil beings.

The events took place on the night of April 28, 2024, at a home located on the Camí de Son Frau, when the man struck his mother and his brother with blunt objects until causing their deaths. Subsequently, he burned them in an improvised bonfire.

The man took gasoline canisters with which he kept the fire of the bonfire where he had burned his mother alive. He also set fire to a row of cypresses on his own property, a fact that caused the National Police to come to the house.
