PalmaAntifeixistes Mallorca has announced that it is preparing a response to the presence of Núcleo Nacional in Palma, where the far-right group plans to set up a stall starting at 12:00 PM. “The Nazis of Núcleo Nacional want to spread their racist and xenophobic poison through the streets of Palma. If the City Council wants to allow this violent group to act with total impunity on our streets, we will not allow it,” the collective warned through social media.
The anti-fascist group has urged its followers to keep an eye on social media this Saturday morning, at which point they will reveal the actions that will be promoted to prevent the ultra group from spreading racist, xenophobic, and anti-LGBTQ+ propaganda, among others.
The presence of Núcleo Nacional in Palma is part of the far-right organization's attempts to establish a core in Mallorca. In May, the group called for a rally in defense of the Feixina monument, which it justified as a protest against the demolition of the monument to the fallen of the cruiser Baleares in application of the Democratic Memory Law. On that occasion, Antifeixistes Mallorca already called for a response to the ultra rally which tripled the attendance of people at the ultra group's gathering.
Graffiti in Mallorca
Over the last few months, Núcleo Nacional has attempted to establish itself on the island. Among the actions that have been attributed to the group are the graffiti on the bust of Aurora Picornell, in the Molinar neighborhood of Palma, and in natural spaces such as the Ufanes springs. The new call from Antifeixistes Mallorca is framed within this context and focuses on the group's activity in the Balearic capital. The collective considers that the organization's presence on the streets of Palma requires a response and has announced that it will provide more details this Saturday.
