PalmA sketch from the British comedy show 'Saturday Night Live UK', broadcast by the Sky channel, has gone viral on social media after satirizing the behavior of some United Kingdom tourists who travel to Spain to enjoy the sun, but without leaving the British environment.

The video, titled Pub Song, begins with a group of tourists at Bristol airport who claim to be traveling to Spain to discover the culture, gastronomy, and landscape. However, upon arrival at their destination, the situation changes completely and the protagonists head directly to a British pub, where they continue with the same habits as at home.

Among the most outstanding scenes, tourists appear drinking beer, eating chips and typical British dishes while watching UK television channels. The video also ironically uses the slogan “just like Britain but in Spain” to emphasize that, despite traveling abroad, the experience ends up being practically the same.

At another point in the sketch, the protagonists decide to try a “different” experience, but end up entering an Irish pub, thus reinforcing the idea of encapsulated tourism far from the local culture. The video also includes scenes where tourists avoid speaking Spanish, order English food, and move exclusively in areas designed for British visitors.

The same video also refers to Mallorca as one of the examples of this phenomenon, along with other tourist areas on the Mediterranean coast. The sketch focuses on destinations with a strong British presence, where it is common to find pubs, restaurants with English breakfast, and businesses oriented almost exclusively to this public.

The clip has gone viral rapidly on social media and has generated debate about the tourism model. Some users point out that this type of tourism responds to a clear demand: traveling without leaving one's comfort zone. Others, on the other hand, criticize that this phenomenon contributes to creating spaces disconnected from the local culture and turns the destination into a mere backdrop with guaranteed sun.

The piece, conceived in a humorous key, brings to the table a reality present in many tourist enclaves, also in Mallorca, and opens the debate on how much traveling actually implies getting to know the destination or simply transferring one's own customs there.
