Damm loses the strategic project seal after the closure of Agama
The project, which foresaw an investment of 41.8 million, remains reduced to 21 million after the resignation to modernize the Agama plant

PalmaThe Balearic president, Marga Prohens, announced this Friday the dismissal of the appeal that the company Damm filed against the Government's decision to withdraw its strategic project seal following the closure of the Agama milk plant.

The Governing Council revoked last July the strategic industrial project declaration for the Damm Next Generation Mallorca project following the decision to close Agama, since part of the original project served to modernize the dairy plant.

Specifically, the initial objective of the strategic project consideration was the expansion and modernization of the Agama dairy products plant, a new microbrewery, and a new logistics center.
During the processing, Damm communicated the economic non-viability of the Agama project and presented modifications to the rest of the actions that reduce the total planned investment from 41.8 million euros to 21.
The Government then justified that the changes alter the criteria that allowed the project to be declared strategic, since the 7.9 million euros allocated to Agama and everything related to the traction of the agri-food sector disappeared.
Against this decision, Damm filed an appeal that the Government has finally dismissed.
