PalmaDeià began this Friday to apply water cuts three days a week at Hotel La Residència and several areas of the municipality due to a lack of resources to guarantee supply. The restriction affects Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the Llucalcari, s'Empeltada, ses Coves de can Puigserver, la Cala, and the area of the road towards Sóller.

The measure, which will be maintained until there is enough water to guarantee the service, also affects the luxury hotel La Residència, which, according to the municipal ordinance, consumes about 20 cubic meters of water each day.

The Deià City Council describes the decision as "unpleasant and unavoidable" and warns of the situation of the supply in the municipality. Currently, Deià consumes about 3,500 cubic meters of water each week, of which approximately 35% arrives by tanker trucks.

In the sector affected by the cuts, consumption reaches 250 cubic meters daily, a figure that has forced the council to temporarily restrict supply. The measure will remain active as long as sufficient resources are not available to restore normality.
