Driver arrested in fatal accident in Portocristo in which a 23-year-old young woman died
The Civil Guard accuses him of a presumed crime of reckless homicide, injuries, and against road safety
PalmaThe Civil Guard arrested this Tuesday the driver of the vehicle that suffered a fatal accident in Portocristo (Manacor) on Sunday, in which a 23-year-old young woman died. The detainee is the alleged perpetrator of the accident and is accused of a crime of reckless homicide, another of injuries, and a third against road safety.
The accident occurred shortly before midnight, around 11:45 p.m., at kilometer 7 of the Ma-4020 road. For reasons still under investigation, the car left the road on the left side, overturned, and ended up hitting a tree. One of the occupants, a 23-year-old young woman, was trapped inside the vehicle and died as a result of the impact. In the same accident, two men were also injured. One, 41 years old, suffered serious injuries, while the other, 35 years old, sustained minor injuries, according to SAMU 061.
The driver's arrest took place this Tuesday, according to sources close to the case. The Civil Guard is investigating him as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of reckless homicide, injuries, and against road safety. The detainee is expected to be brought before the Manacor court this Wednesday morning.
