PalmaA building on Manuel Sanchis Guarner street in Palma had to be temporarily evacuated this Saturday after a part of the false ceiling of a dwelling detached. The incident, which caused no injuries, occurred at 12:30 PM and mobilized the Palma Firefighters.

According to emergency services, the detachment affected approximately one square meter of the plaster false ceiling of an apartment located on the second floor of a three-story building. Due to the possibility of structural damage, firefighters initially ordered the evacuation of the building.

However, after an initial inspection, they concluded that residents could return to their homes. Nevertheless, as a preventive measure, access to the affected room and the building's terrace has been sealed off.

The main hypothesis is that the poor condition of the reinforcement of some beams caused the detachment of the false ceiling support due to the expansion of the iron. Municipal technicians will review the state of the building on Monday to determine the exact causes and rule out new risks.
