A farm fire near Son Sardina forces the metro to be cut
The officers have reported that around 1:00 PM the fire was already controlled
PalmaAn agricultural fire that broke out this Thursday on Camí dels Reis, in Palma, has forced the closure of the metro line between this road and Parc Bit, in both directions.
Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) has indicated in a message on the social network X that the fire has broken out in the vicinity of the Son Sardina station and that, as a precaution, circulation has been suspended.
The Palma City Council has reported that the fire originated at 12:15 PM on a farm around the Son Castelló industrial estate and affected some stubble. The Palma Firefighters and the Local Police attended the scene and, after 1:00 PM, the fire is already under control. No one was injured.
Likewise, according to sources from emergencies, the fire has also affected some pipes and an electrical cable. Thus, the fire department has requested the interruption of the electrical supply in the affected area.
