Fine of 10,400 euros to the organizers of an illegal party in Sencelles

PalmThe Sencelles Town Council has imposed a €10,400 fine on the organizers of an illegal Halloween party held on November 1, 2019, on a rural property within the municipality. The decision is final after the organizers' appeal was dismissed. According to the Town Council, the Local Police went to the location after receiving complaints from several residents and found more than 700 people and approximately 150 vehicles parked around the property. The police report states that the event caused significant noise disturbances, traffic disruptions, and even a traffic accident related to the large number of cars. Furthermore, the presence of hired security personnel indicated that it was an unauthorized business activity, organized without the necessary permits or the safety measures required by law.

Those in charge claimed it was a private party, but up to nine neighbors testified that the property had hosted other large events and that tickets had even been sold online.

The mayor of Sencelles, Juan Carlos Verde, emphasized that the local government will continue working to guarantee peaceful coexistence in the municipality and warned that he will not allow the rural area to "become illegal open-air nightclubs."
