Fine of 205,949 euros for changing a home in Santa Eulària to tourist use
In addition to the unauthorized conversion into holiday accommodation, the property offered services typical of the tourist activity.

PalmThe Santa Eulària City Council has imposed a fine of €205,949 for the unauthorized change of use of a residential home to tourist use, the council announced this Sunday. The home, located on Calle de Santa Maria in the town center, was being offered as tourist accommodation through digital platforms during the summer of 2024, which is why it was detected.
According to the file, in addition to the unauthorized conversion into holiday accommodation, the home offered services typical of tourist activity. Based on the technical and legal assessment, the council has decided to impose a fine in the middle range, corresponding to 32.5% of the building's value, as established by the Balearic Islands Urban Planning Law (LUIB) for cases of legalizable changes of use.
The resolution also includes the precautionary suspension of the activity and notification to the responsible parties. The project is part of the Santa Eulària Creates Future plan, through which the City Council aims to combat illegal tourist rentals and promote year-round use of the properties.
