A fire forces the evacuation of a hotel in Magaluf
The fire did not cause any injuries nor did it affect the rooms of the establishment, although a part of the clients was preventively evacuated
PalmaA fire declared this Sunday evening in a hotel in Magaluf, in the municipality of Calvià, forced the precautionary evacuation of the upper floors of the establishment. According to the Mallorca Firefighters, the fire caused no injuries and did not affect the rooms.
The alert was received at 9:55 PM. The fire originated on the sixth floor of the building, which, due to the hotel's configuration, is considered a basement, as the main access to the establishment is from the eighth floor.
As a precaution, emergency teams evacuated guests staying between the sixth and twelfth floors. On the other hand, people who were between the ground floor and the fifth floor were confined until the situation was completely under control.
The Mallorca Firefighters emphasized that the rooms were not affected by the fire, which was extinguished without any personal injuries.
In the extinguishing efforts, personnel from the Inca and Sóller stations of the Mallorca Firefighters intervened, with the support of the Palma Firefighters.
For now, the causes that originated the fire have not been revealed.
