A fire in a house in Selva uncovers a marijuana plantation and a drug and weapons warehouse
The Civil Guard has arrested two women, a mother and her daughter, aged 41 and 18.
PalmThe Civil Guard has arrested two women as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons, after a fire in their home in Selva, Mallorca, uncovered a marijuana plantation, other drugs, and numerous weapons. Firefighters, the Civil Guard, and the Local Police responded to a fire report at the home of the now-detained women on Monday, according to a statement from the Civil Guard. Once the fire was extinguished, officers inspected the house and found a marijuana plantation, as well as sophisticated electrical and ventilation systems designed to optimize plant growth and prevent odors. The Civil Guard also found other quantities of drugs and a large number of weapons, leading to the arrest of the two residents, a mother and her 18-year-old daughter. The agents seized 14 kilos of marijuana buds and leaves, 1.1 kilos of amphetamines, 95 grams of hashish resin, and 43 bottles of methadone, as well as 43 grow lights for marijuana cultivation. The illicit distribution of these substances was also confiscated. In addition, two rifles and a pistol, 14 air guns, a replica firearm, a starter pistol, a crossbow, two stun guns, two brass knuckles, various batons, and 850 rounds of ammunition of different calibers were seized.
