Four people evacuated due to a fire in the old prison in Palma

PalmPalma firefighters rescued four people trapped in the old prison due to a large fire early Saturday morning.

Rooms are being rented out in Palma's old prison and the City Council is doing nothing about it.

According to the Fire Department, a fire broke out on the exterior of the building shortly before 2:00 a.m. this Saturday, burning a pile of trash. Four units from the Palma Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, where they rescued four people trapped on the first floor and extinguished the blaze. The operation lasted more than two hours.
