PalmaThe man accused of killing his brother with a hammer in sa Pobla has been sentenced this Thursday to four years in prison after reaching an agreement with the Public Prosecutor's Office. The Public Prosecutor's Office had initially requested a 12-year sentence.
The parties were summoned this Thursday to the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands, after the possibility of an agreement that would allow avoiding a jury trial had already transpired last June.
The events date back to June 9, 2025, when, as the accused has admitted, he assaulted his brother with a hammer in Sa Pobla. The victim died days later at the hospital.
The agreement has taken into account as mitigating circumstances the confession of the facts and the payment of 60,000 euros to the family in terms of civil liability and reparation for the damage.
