A girl accuses her father of raping her when she was six years old: "He did adult things to me"

PalmaThe Second Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands concluded this Tuesday the trial against an accused of repeatedly raping his daughter in Mallorca. During Tuesday's proceedings, the examination of the minor, about six years old at the time of the events, was played, in which she stated that her father did "adult things" to her when they were alone at home.

The Prosecutor's Office requests that he be sentenced to 12 years in prison as the perpetrator of a continuous crime of sexual assault on the minor, who is now 16 years old. The hearing began last week with the first witness statements.

The victim explained that at the time of the assaults she told an acquaintance, older, who was the one who told her that it was sexual abuse. According to the girl's account, about six years old at the time of the events, on one occasion, when she was sitting on the sofa, the man pulled down her pants and raped her, even though she tried to prevent it. "It hurt me and I pushed him," she detailed.

In the statement she made at the time the complaint was filed, the victim described other episodes of touching, which led to her no longer referring to the man as her father but addressing him by his name.

In Tuesday's session, the minor's primary pediatrician recalled that she used to suffer from vulvovaginitis and that on one occasion an infection compatible with abuse "caught her attention" and put her "on alert." However, she did not bring it to the attention of other instances.

The accused denies the facts

The accused has denied making any kind of touching to his daughter, even highlighting that he never entered the girl's room when she stayed overnight at his home.

During his statement, the man assured that his ex-partner controlled everything related to the girl. "I didn't know she had gone to the doctor 20 times," he stated. "I couldn't believe it, it couldn't be," he affirmed when he recalled the moment the Civil Guard told him he had to report to their offices the next day. He said he did not consent to DNA tests being performed at the indication of his lawyer.

The events occurred between 2020 and 2023, when the minor was between six and nine years old. According to the indictment, the accused took advantage of the moments he was alone with the victim at his home to violate her. The trial is scheduled to be heard for sentencing today after the accused made his statement last.

In addition to the prison sentence, the Public Prosecutor's Office requests that the accused be prohibited from approaching or communicating with his daughter for 20 years. It also claims compensation of 50,000 euros for the damages suffered.
