Palm"The money is spent on nothing but the gay party." These statements, made by a resident of Inca in an interview, have prompted IB3 to open an internal investigation and apologize after the video with the homophobic comments spread on social media. According to the public broadcaster, it was production material that was not supposed to be broadcast at any time.

In a statement, the public broadcaster stressed that, as in any audiovisual process, there are test sequences, discarded images, or content that is not intended for broadcast. "All this material is part of the daily work of the production teams, and it is the responsibility of all professionals to treat it with respect and not use it externally. When this basic rule of ethics and trust is broken, not only is the professional code violated, but the credibility and work of a public media outlet are also put at risk," IB3 stressed.

Internal investigation

The public entity has reported that, for this reason, an internal investigation has been opened, which has led to the identification of the alleged employee who spread the video, "with whom we have already spoken." Furthermore, "the pertinent measures were taken to ensure that a situation like this does not happen again."

The video

The material that has sparked controversy is a fragment of an interview with a resident of Inca, who complains about the current state of the city. "Inca is in very bad shape, very bad, very bad. Everything is very neglected and everyone is complaining. I can't say anything better," says the woman, apparently referring to the current mayor, Virgilio Moreno.

"When Torres (Rafel Torres, the previous mayor) was there, he was a delight; Inca was very well-maintained. But since this one came along? Doesn't he spend his money on anything other than the gay party?" she concludes.
