PalmThe Public Broadcasting Entity of the Balearic Islands (EPRTVIB) does not require a degree in Journalism to work. This is according to the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) of August 12, which states: detail the bases of the call for the selection of personnel for the creation of a pool of editors for the News Content Department at IB3, for temporary employment contracts in Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera.

Regarding the requirements for candidates, these include holding Spanish nationality or another nationality in cases that permit access to public employment as a laborer; being 18 years of age or older and not exceeding the legally established ordinary retirement age; and possessing the physical and mental abilities and aptitudes necessary to perform the corresponding duties, among others.

However, among the various points, the requirement for a degree in Journalism is not mentioned. Instead, what is required is a bachelor's or graduate degree in a degree in the fields of social sciences, law, or arts and humanities, or equivalent.

In fact, in the evaluation of merits, specifically the section on academic qualifications, a degree in Journalism is also not mentioned at any point. "Only academic qualifications that are directly related to the duties of the category covered by the call will be considered, and provided they are of the same level or higher than the qualification required for participation," the document states. The score will be six points for a bachelor's or university degree; four points for an official master's degree; and six for a doctorate.
