PalmThe Mallorca per la Pau platform has organized the second edition of the Peace Conference, which will take place on April 24 and 25, with "a program open to the public and focused on the culture of peace, dialogue, and collective reflection," the entity reported in a statement. "In a geopolitical context marked by war, militarization, and the escalation of international conflicts – with figures like Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu as examples of an increasingly polarized global scenario, marked by the normalization of conflict as a political tool – these conferences aim to reaffirm the need to clearly advocate for peace, disarmament, and the defense of life," the note adds.

The activities will begin on April 24 at 6 p.m. at IES Joan Maria Llompart, with the screening of the documentary Desarmando la guerra, a piece that invites reflection on the dynamics of militarism and possible alternatives from non-violence. The CEIP Aina Moll will host the central day on Saturday, April 25, with a program that will include talks, debates, dialogue spaces, live music, and a collective meal. "Throughout the day, reflections and experiences on peacebuilding and social responses to structural violence will be shared," indicates Mallorca per la Pau.

Tica Font (Centre Delàs d'Estudis per la Pau), Tom Kucharz (Ecologistes en Acció), Laura Camargo (professor at UIB) and Sion Capçana (philosopher and poet) will participate, who "will contribute critical and committed perspectives with social transformation". "Mallorca per la Pau calls for the participation of all citizens in these conferences, understood as a necessary space for meeting, critical thinking and collective construction of alternatives in the face of the culture of war. Peace must be defended, built and lived every day", the statement concludes.
