PalmaThe president and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer, has assured that he expects Magaluf to have "the best year in history" in 2026 and has highlighted the transformation of the area in recent years. "I can assure you, very cautiously, that everything seems to indicate that we will have a great tourist season and Magaluf will have the best year in history," he said this Wednesday at the inauguration ceremony of the second phase of the Gabriel Escarrer Julià promenade.

The president of Meliá has valued very positively the public-private collaboration that has made it possible to transform the destination, and has underlined that Magaluf "has stopped being in the headlines with a pejorative character". In this sense, he applauded the extension of the tourist season, as well as indicating that this will be the longest, and that this will mean jobs will be generated for 9 or 10 months.
