PalmaThe heat continues to grip the Balearic Islands, and this Saturday Mallorca once again is the only island in the Archipelago with active alerts for high temperatures. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) maintains a yellow alert in the interior and south of the island, where thermometers could reach up to 37 degrees.

The intense heat episode has been ongoing for days and has forced the chaining of meteorological alerts in different parts of the Archipelago. However, the situation has been stabilizing in the Pitiusas, which are now out of the alerts, while Mallorca remains under surveillance.

According to Aemet's forecast, the central hours of the day will once again be the most complicated, especially in the interior and southern areas of Mallorca, where the combination of heat and low air circulation can accentuate the feeling of mugginess.

Although the yellow alert implies a low risk for the general population, emergency services and health authorities insist on taking extreme precautions, especially among children, the elderly, and people with pre-existing conditions. Among the usual recommendations are avoiding sun exposure during peak insolation hours, hydrating frequently, and reducing intense physical activity outdoors.

This new episode confirms a start to summer marked by the persistence of high temperatures in the Islands, with consecutive days of intense heat that keep the Archipelago under almost continuous surveillance.
