Delays at Palma airport due to fog
Mallorca is on yellow alert due to this weather phenomenon.
PalmPalma Airport is experiencing numerous delays due to fog, according to information provided by Aena. After 8 p.m., 16 departing and 16 arriving flights were delayed, and around 6 p.m., this number had risen to 31 arrivals and nine departures. The airports of Menorca and Ibiza have not registered any delays. So far, no flights have been canceled for these reasons. It should be noted that the Balearic Islands Emergency Service (112) activated a yellow alert for fog in Mallorca this Monday. The activation, as reported by the Emergency Service on its social media account, triggers the zero severity level (IG-0) of the Meteobal Plan.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) will also activate a yellow alert for fog on Tuesday in the south, interior, and eastern areas of Mallorca. The alert will be in effect between midnight and 9 a.m. and will allow for visibility of approximately 200 meters.
Emergency services, in the face of fog, recommend turning on the rear and front fog lights of cars, not using high beams, reducing speed, using the longitudinal markings in the center and sides of the roads as a guide, maintaining a safe distance, not invading the opposite lane and not overtaking.
