PalmThe State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow warning for high temperatures this Friday from 12 noon until 6:59 p.m., which could reach 36°C in inland and southern Mallorca. This warning comes after a tropical night across virtually the entire archipelago, with minimum temperatures above 20°C, except for some inland areas.

This Thursday, several areas of Mallorca already reached maximum temperatures of 36°C, including Sa Pobla, Binissalem, and Pollença.

The rise in temperature is related to the warm air mass that has hit the Iberian Peninsula in recent days and reached the islands this Thursday.

It's worth remembering that July marked a new peak in nighttime heat in the islands, with a notable increase in the number of tropical nights, those in which temperatures did not drop below 20°C. July was the twelfth warmest month since 1961, with an average temperature of 26°C and a positive anomaly of 1.2°C.
