PalmA man caught selling drugs in Son Banya accepted a three-year prison sentence on Wednesday, which will be replaced by a ten-year ban from Spain. The parties reached a plea agreement on Wednesday at the Second Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands, and the defendant admitted to the charges and agreed to pay a fine of €18,000. The prosecution had initially sought a four-and-a-half-year prison sentence and a €30,000 fine for the man, who was residing illegally in Spain. The events took place on September 8, 2024, in the Son Banya shantytown in Palma. The now-convicted man was caught carrying a box containing cannabis and cocaine, among other narcotics. More than €400 in banknotes and papers containing notes about drug sales were also seized.
