Mercedes Garrido has been summoned to testify in connection with a complaint of workplace harassment when she was a councilor.
The complainant is a civil servant who has been a senior official with the PP in Mallorca and has already taken the case to administrative litigation and lost.
PalmAn investigating court has summoned Socialist MP Mercedes Garrido in connection with a complaint filed against her for workplace harassment allegedly committed when she was a councilor. Garrido's statement is scheduled for November, and the complaint also targets former vice president and councilor Juan Pedro Yllanes, according to a report published this Friday by the newspaper Breaking News and Europa Press has been able to confirm.
The complainant is a civil servant who held a senior position with the People's Party (PP) in Mallorca and previously worked in the Vice Presidency of the Catalan Government. At the time, she felt under siege and already took the case to the administrative court, where she already lost an appeal. The Ombudsman also closed the case.
The civil servant has now turned to the criminal courts and filed a complaint against other public employees and the former councilors as heads of departments.
Socialist sources have indicated that Garrido is calm about the summons to testify and are confident that the case will be closed again, as was the case in the previous courts.
