Migrant associations denounce the PP's "racism" for following Vox.
The Platform of Associations has attacked the Prohens government for legitimizing hate speech and racism toward migrants.

Palm"Cruel, racist and dehumanizing" is how the Platform of Associations of Migrant People of the Balearic Islands has referred to the policies of the PP, which, in its opinion, has alienated itself from the extreme right and is legitimizing its proposals of hatred against migrants.
In a statement, the associations have recalled that last Tuesday the PP voted with Vox in Congress in favor of processing a bill to eliminate de facto Rootedness, a legal means of regularizing status for people who have been working, paying taxes, and contributing to society for years. For the groups, although the initiative was rejected, the PP's support represents "a betrayal of democratic values, human rights, and thousands of working families."
"Marga Prohens has embraced hate speech that not only singles out migrants as a problem, but also threatens to expel entire families and even children born in the country. It is institutional racism turned into a political strategy," they noted.
They also lamented that the PP "looks the other way" while Vox publicly defends its goal of expelling up to eight million migrants and their children born in the country. Platform spokesperson Farouk Pino Nallar asserted that what Prohens and the PP are legitimizing with Vox is the expulsion of their children, sowing fear, and breaking up communities. "We will not allow it. The Federation and all the organizations that support us say it loud and clear: enough of racism, enough of hatred, we want a society that protects and respects human dignity," he added.
For his part, the president of the Association of Ecuadorians of Ibiza and Formentera, Milton Horacio Balda Macias, insisted that migrants are not a threat. "We are a living part of these islands. We are friends, neighbors, colleagues, and families who have come to build our life project. We work in the hospitality industry, in the fields, in construction, in care for the elderly, in domestic service, and many other essential sectors that sustain these islands," he added.
The associations have called on Prohens and the PP to break with Vox, to guarantee the protection of migrants, and to strongly oppose any proposal that puts the lives and future of millions of people at risk. At the same time, they call on Spanish and Balearic society "to raise their voices, to speak up, and to not normalize racism in institutions."
