PalmaPalma Airport registered at least thirty flight delays this Friday, coinciding with a new day of strike by Groundforce company's ground staff, responsible for ramp assistance services. According to Aena data, sixteen departures and fourteen arrivals at Son Sant Joan were affected.

In contrast, at Ibiza Airport, where stoppages were also called, no significant incidents have occurred so far.

The strike, called by the CCOO, UGT, and USO unions, is indefinite and takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in three time slots: from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The protests affect twelve airports in the State, including Palma, Barcelona, Madrid, and Bilbao.

The unions denounce that the company is not fulfilling the salary commitments included in the collective agreement. They assure that the company applies a restrictive interpretation of certain articles, which, they claim, translates into a loss of purchasing power for workers and inequalities within the staff.
