More than 5,700 counterfeit products seized in operation on Playa de Palma

The inspections took place between 11.00 and 17.30 hours at 21 commercial establishments

PalmaThe Local Police have seized 5,723 counterfeit products in a large-scale operation against commercial fraud carried out in Platja de Palma, an action in which 21 people were investigated as alleged perpetrators of crimes against industrial property. The inspections took place between 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in 21 commercial establishments located on Cartago street, the Arenal road, and Plaça de les Meravelles.

The agents seized 80 bags with a total of 5,723 products that illicitly reproduced brands and designs of prestigious firms. Among the confiscated material were 3,443 t-shirts, 883 bags and shoulder bags, 391 caps and hats, 278 sports outfits, 185 sunglasses, 146 trousers, and 397 other articles and accessories.

The Police opened proceedings against 21 people, who were investigated, although not arrested, for their alleged involvement in crimes against industrial property. The operation included the participation of 85 officers, including 26 trainee police officers, as well as two sergeants, one inspector, and two specialized experts provided by the affected brands to certify the counterfeiting of the seized items.

This action is part of the periodic operations carried out by the Local Police to combat illicit trade, protect industrial property rights, and ensure fair commercial competition during the high tourist season.
