PalmThe motorcyclist who was seriously injured in an accident on Palma's ring road this Monday morning remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Son Espases Hospital. According to information from the SAMU (National Health Service), the accident occurred at around 5:40 a.m. and the victim collided with another vehicle and was ejected.
Upon arrival, medical personnel found the patient unconscious after suffering severe head trauma. After intubating him, emergency services workers managed to stabilize him and rushed him to Son Espases Hospital.
Witnesses reported the accident after seeing the motorcyclist unconscious in the middle of the road near Vileta. Initial investigations by the Guardia Civil Traffic Department suggest the possibility that the accident was caused by water accumulating on the road after a pipe burst.
According to reports, the road was full of water due to the rupture of this pipe and the motorcyclist skidded and violently collided with another car that was traveling in the area. At this point, the investigation continues to clarify the facts.
Hours later, the Roads Department of the Consell de Mallorca announced, through the social network X, that they were closing the lane due to flooding. Specifically, the affected area is the section between the Vileta roundabout and the Son Rapinya roundabout, towards the airport.
